Bob Chapek Now Opposes Florida’s Anti-Grooming Law

Well here is a shock. Bob Chapek has folded like a cheap lightsaber

The CEO also said Disney will donate $5 million to organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign, which work to protect LGTBQ+ rights.

During Disney’s annual shareholder meeting Wednesday, the CEO said that while Disney had been “opposed to the bill from the outset,” its original under-the-radar approach to fighting it “didn’t get the job done.”

“While we’ve been strong supporters of the community for decades, I know that many are upset that we did not speak out against the bill,” Chapek said. “Now, we were opposed to the bill from the outset, but we chose to not take a public position because we thought we could be more effective working behind the scenes, engaging directly with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.”

Bob Chapek has now publically condemned Florida’s anti-grooming law that would prevent teachers from “explaining” gay and trans “lifestyle choices” to children that haven’t even reached puberty. Chapek will also meet with Ron DeSantis to give him a stern talking to.

As Bob Chapek has the rapier-like rhetoric of a paraplegic Porthos, I am hoping DeSantis will avail himself of the opportunity to skewer him repeatedly during the meeting.

Every time I see someone like Doomcock or Kamran Pasha talking like Chapek is the Space Jesus that is going to save Disney and Star Wars, I roll my eyes until the room goes black. I keep saying he’s an accountant with the soul of an accountant. He is not a good man. No one who prospered under Bob Iger’s regime could be one. Iger wouldn’t have allowed it. What Chapek is, is a deeply amoral and Machiavellian executive. He got to the top of the greasiest pole in Hollywood and successfully deposed his boss.

The only reason he wanted to keep quiet on Florida’s Anti-Grooming Law, was because the Carlyle Group wants Disney to become more apolitical. But Disney as a company is too deeply corrupt to allow for anything like that at this point. Their employees wouldn’t permit it. Pick a few random Twitter accounts at about any level and you see the Pixiedusters condemning Chapek for not attacking the Anti-Grooming Law like Iger would have.

In case you were holding out any hope at all that there was anyone with Christian values left at Disney flush them down the toilet. If they are there, they are now in hiding.

Come to Disney World! The Groomiest Place on Earth!

UPDATE:

He tried being nice in his disagreement but Disney wouldn’t back off.

Gov. DeSantis on Disney: “How do they possibly explain lining their pockets with their relationship from the Communist Party of China? Because that’s what they do, and they make a fortune, and they don’t say a word about the really brutal practices at the hands of the CCP.”

“Companies that have made a fortune catering to families should understand that parents don’t want this injected into their kid’s kindergarten classroom. Our policies will be based on the best interest of Florida citizens, not the musing of woke corporations.”

I think DeSantis is still being too nice. He should follow Ace’s advice and say: “I don’t think that children aged five through nine should be groomed in sexuality and gender ideology. The Disney Corporation disagrees…. passionately. With an unsettling intensity, as a matter of fact. I’ll leave it to Florida’s voters and Disney’s customers to decide who is right.”
