Iger’s Newest Lawsuit

Iger had to know this one was one coming  The inevitable shareholder lawsuit.  From Forbes:  “Disney leadership faces a fresh lawsuit from shareholders accusing management of knowingly deceiving investors about the financial health of its core Disney+ streaming service, as frustrations hit a fever pitch with the stock wobbling near a nine-year low.  Beginning in December 2020, Disney’s top executives “repeatedly misled investors” about the extent of Disney+’s losses, according to the complaint filed Wednesday by New Jersey-based Stourbridge Investments, first reported on by the...

Vampire Rules: The Last Voyage of the Demeter

It’s the last week of August which means that Halloween season is well underway. Spirit Halloween stores have now risen from the dead, once more inhabiting the husks of once vibrant Toys R’Us and Bed Bath & Beyond box stores everywhere.   It also means it's time to visit films from the despised lesser genre of horror.   Also, I need to get this review written while the movie is still reasonably fresh in my head.   This movie frankly had worse luck...

RON DESANTIS SLASHES BENEFITS TO BRAVE FIREFIGHTERS AT DISNEY WORLD! WOMEN AND MINORITIES MOST EFFECTED!  This is what happens when the controlled media is finally forced to cover a story. A laundromat Speed Queen is usually required to put that much spin on something.  The employees at the Reedy Creek Fire Department did indeed receive the much coveted Disney World Annual Pass as a standard benefit. Which does have a lot of goodies attached to it.   -Admission to one or more Walt Disney World...

RE:Animation – Batman the Animated Series

BUMPED (8/27/2023) For a very sad reason. Arleen Sorkin, the very first voice of Harley Quinn has passed at the age of 67. Arleen was well-known and well-liked throughout the industry. Without Sorkin, Harley Quinn would have stayed a background character confined to one animated series, and known to only a handful of television historians. She is survived by her husband of 28 years Christopher Lloyd and their two sons. Arleen Sorkin 1955-2023 “One thing and one alone keeps Gotham...

Welcome to the Arktoons Spotlight, a regular feature at the Arkhaven Blog. Rebel Moon Trailer

It's a trailer. Here it is. look at it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rHLOXbFZtI Rebel Moon has all of Zack Snyder's dullish and weird palette choices in evidence. As well as his love of the human form. I'm not complaining about that it's a legitimate aesthetic choice that hasn't really been used since Leni Riefenstahl went into early retirement for reasons I'm not going into here. Beyond that I can't tell much more about it other than it looks like what would happen if Warhammer 40K...

First Impressions: Star Wars Ashoka

I just saw the first two episodes of Star Wars: Dave Filoni’s Waifu Harem. I wasn’t expecting a lot and yet it delivered on so much less than that.  Let me preface this by saying I was never into Star Wars Rebels or for that matter Star Wars The Clone Wars. I’ve watched a few key episodes and I’ve been forced to read up on some of the others in Wookiepedia for various Disney TV shows because Dave Filoni is under...

Blue Beetle is Dead… Maybe

Seventy-five cents for a comic book. That makes me sad. The returns are in and they are bad for Blue Beetle. Barbie, which has been out for a month came in first this weekend. The worldwide gross is $45 million against a $100 million budget. Hollywood is officially upset with Latinos for not coming out to support “their” movie.   Look I’m not Mexican, Cuban, or any other flavor of Latino but I’d certainly got to know a few of them...

The Dark Herald Does Not Recommend: The Blue Beetle

I have no idea how this film got greenlit.    Okay. Yes, I do it was an Ann Sarnoff project before Zaslov fired her. This is clearly a movie made by rich white liberals for poor brown Latinos, who would have been annoyed by the pandering if they had bothered to see this movie.    Which they didn’t.   It was trying for the Marvel vibe from 5 years ago but comes across as a 1980s TV superhero movie with modern effects.  I’m not really...
