The Last of Us Season 2
F-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-R-R-E!!!
Since I never got into the first game I never really cared about the second but I could certainly understand why the fans were furious.
I also didn’t watch the TV show because I can’t keep up with all the sewage that is getting blasted out of Hollywood’s broken pipe. People I trust said, yeah, it was kind of good for the most part.
People who are plugged in know what to expect from season 2. The trailer makes it obvious that Joel is going golfing. Normies will be upset everyone who was expecting this is going to shrug. The big question now becomes… I can’t believe I’m asking this… Can the TV show survive without Pedro Pascal?
This leaves the entire show sitting on Bella Ramsey’s shoulders and I’m not sure she can carry the load. She was born with Severely Compromised Immunodeficiency, dwarfism, and Hirschsprung’s Disease. This is why she looks the way she does, it also gave producers an actress who could play ten-year-olds well into her late teens. Don’t get me wrong, she’s going to have a short life and I won’t deny her choosing fame given that she’s had Achilles’ Choice thrust upon her. But she is going to be the star of the show this season. I honestly don’t think she can do it. She’s not a lead actress, she just isn’t.
Now they did make a good call with hiring Kaitlyn Dever as Abbie. I would have put money on them casting Katy O’Brien from the Mandolorian. An interesting call since Neil Cuckman has a say in the casting. I strongly suspect (but cannot prove) that Abbie was trans while Last of Us 2 was in development. When they say Abbie has always been a woman, my guess is that they mean in the same way that Elliot Page has always been a man. Granted the only thing I have for proof is that scene. Everything about that scene strongly suggests that Abbie is getting the Joker-in-prison treatment, which is not something a man and a woman do in a moment of unbridled passion.
Regardless, the choice of Kaitlyn Dever isn’t going to make Abbie fighting Ellie look too ridiculous to be believable.
There remains the question of, will anyone want to keep watching this show after Joel is dead.
I can’t make a guess either way to tell you the truth. Season 2 will become Cuckman’s skinsuit version of The Last of Us franchise and the second game did sell well. Four million units were moved on its opening weekend with another six million sold by the end of 2022.
Although, I am just a little curious about how well something like that will sell after the Great Woke Meltdown. I personally am not spending $70 on it.
