The Final Solution to the Drow Problem
Screen Rant is declaring that WOTC “Must Deal with its Drow PROBLEM” before they can make a Drizzt movie.
The problem is leftie brain-washing versus the foundations of storytelling.
The dumb is just exhausting.
In a nutshell, they’re demanding the Drow be de-evil-ized because their brainwashing demands it. The fundamental problem is if you do that you completely ruin the character of Drizzt Do’urden.
Look I’m not a member of the Church of Drizzt, but I was there when he was first introduced and R.A. Salvatore was so low on the author’s totem pole that his name was in the smallest possible font on the cover, you nearly needed a magnifying glass to read it.
Drizzt really wasn’t that big of a deal. He was just a side character, Wulfgar was supposed to be the star of that book. But the renegade Drow upstaged him.
The problem is that Drizzt was intriguing to D&D players because he was the only good member of a race that was well-known for being unspeakably evil. You hated running into even a single Drow if you were in a low-level campaign.
It was the fundamental dichotomy of his character that drew people to him. A child of the spider goddess who followed a path of light was somebody you wanted to find out more about.
What made him choose the life of a complete outcast? A traitor to be tortured and murdered by his own people but hated and feared by all else because he was a member of that race. His character archetype is that of the Renegade Heroes* and it is their rebellion that fascinates an audience.
The problem is that retards like the people who write for Screenrant are so wrapped up in their Delulu Land paradigm that they can’t be made to understand that turning the Drow into just a bunch of subterranean indigenous people with BLACK skin and cultural differences that white colonizers from Greyhawk or the Wherever Realms can’t acknowledge as being valid… Utterly destroys the character of Drizzt.
It’s his rebellion against the fundamental evil of his own race that drew his audience to him. His evil race is the very foundation of his character. Take that away from him and he’s just some loner.
But in this Sixth Edition world where Orcs are Mexicans and Dwarves are gay bakers, the Drow simply can not be allowed to exist as they are. The final solution to the Drow problem is their genocide and replacement with something incompatible with the creation of a character that is as interesting as Drizzt Do’urden.
The answer to Screenrant’s problem is simple. Swap out the Drow for something politically agreeable and then demand that Modern Audiences find Skinsuit Drizzt even more interesting now and that you are hater-incel-chud if you don’t agree.
The truly tragic part is that R.A. Salvatore is supposedly on board with this plan.
*I need to get in touch with Professor Geek about the Renegade Hero archetype.
