Gina Carano Fired!
The Okay-Boomers who run Disney have finally bowed to the Twitter mob and fired Gina Carano.
The twerps that run LucasFilm social media were at last let off their leash. “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
All of the goodwill they built up with the return of Luke just went down the toilet.
This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen Disney do in the last twelve months. They have bowed to the pressure of a Twitter mob that is 90% fictional. The most active people on Twitter are the SJW shut-ins living in their parents’ basement with fifteen different accounts.
With no new Star Wars TV shows on the immediate horizon, the fandom menace will have no trouble at all pulling the plug on Disney Plus. And they are going to be making as big of a stink as they can while they do it. Disney Plus is the only thing that Disney has going for it. That is the only reason it’s stock price is where it is.
This latest bout in the Star Wars civil war is kicking off right before tomorrow’s earning’s call.

SECOND UPDATE:
In retrospect, I think this decision was made months ago and Disney execs decided they had an excuse to pull the trigger early. You will note that Carano was in NONE of the announcements for the upcoming Star Wars projects, including Rangers, which was clearly supposed to be Cara Dune’s vehicle.
They were going to do this all along.
