Gina Carano Fired!

Gina Carano Fired!

The Okay-Boomers who run Disney have finally bowed to the Twitter mob and fired Gina Carano.

The twerps that run LucasFilm social media were at last let off their leash. “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

All of the goodwill they built up with the return of Luke just went down the toilet.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen Disney do in the last twelve months. They have bowed to the pressure of a Twitter mob that is 90% fictional. The most active people on Twitter are the SJW shut-ins living in their parents’ basement with fifteen different accounts.

With no new Star Wars TV shows on the immediate horizon, the fandom menace will have no trouble at all pulling the plug on Disney Plus. And they are going to be making as big of a stink as they can while they do it. Disney Plus is the only thing that Disney has going for it. That is the only reason it’s stock price is where it is.

This latest bout in the Star Wars civil war is kicking off right before tomorrow’s earning’s call.

UPDATE: No background material about this decision available yet.

In retrospect, I think this decision was made months ago and Disney execs decided they had an excuse to pull the trigger early. You will note that Carano was in NONE of the announcements for the upcoming Star Wars projects, including Rangers, which was clearly supposed to be Cara Dune’s vehicle.

They were going to do this all along.

#CancelDisneyPlus trending on Twitter. It won’t be for long. Twitter will start suppressing the hashtag shortly. Disney stock price is down slightly.

Good, let Pedowood die and the weak gamma orbiters that funds the Hellmouth maybe wakes up to the fact that they HATE you and their goal is to erase Western culture and civilization.

I rather read the fan-fic that some of the teens in my wilderness/survival group that I teach writes about the ever victorious SDL than pollute my mind with that filth(Yes, they really do write about him, “The thrice. blessed SDL” were the latest).

Those same guys are awaiting the new Arkhaven line with glee and even I, who usually only reads comics at bedtime for the young soon-to-be warriors, await the Awakener with interest.

Long-time Star Wars fan here, and I feel the same way about The Mandalorian as I do about the Thrawn trilogy. It’s very good, excellent in parts, but I’m not seeing the revelatory, makes-fans-cry-with-joy product that everyone else seems to. I could definitely live without it, and after this, I definitely will.

It’s all about the timing: the Thrawn trilogy came at a time when it seemed like the Star Wars story was over, and The Mandalorian is here at a time when Star Wars is, for all intents and purposes, over.

Eventually, copies of the Mandalorin will be available for checkout at the library. I’ll watch it then.

how dare you point out that Trump supporters were being beaten and murdered in the streets … just like Jews in Nazi Germany? so what if it’s factually true?
you have made the same mistake as Hitler, taking a description of the jew and applying it to a gentile.

Doomcock agrees that the firing of Carano has been in the works for months, claims that releasing before this quarter earnings report was a last ditch effort ( by unnamed agents ) to save her job by forcing Disney to have to answer uncomfortable questions before the board:
at this point, i don’t see how the fandom can tolerate anything less than Krazy Kathy’s public firing and humiliation.
Disney is clearly a thoroughly evil company ( as demonstrated by their desire to work with convicted pedophiles and the typical career arcs of graduated Mouseketeers ) with an executive structure fundamentally incapable of making basic business profit decisions. even if Kathy is excised, they will only make minimally tolerable choices out of fear of fan backlash.
it’s really too bad that they own the Star Wars and Marvel franchise rights.

I get tired of these things. They trick people into supporting someone who’s probably barely any better than the rest of them, if they even are better.

Her character is an archetype of all the stupid, asinine “female warrior” characters they’re constantly pushing. The character is feminist nonsense incarnate, and they get people on the right to fight for that stupid garbage to stay in the show!

Not that they’d replace it with anything better, obviously, but come on. Can’t people see when they’re being tricked by now?

Gina is likeable and I don’t believe responsible for the show writing shortcomings.

It is funny to see the left push the strong independent female archetype and then when finally a truly authentic one appears they eat her alive for not living to their SJW expectations, because she’s a normal empathetic human being.

The Mandalorian is garbage lite in comparison to the Disney sequels, that’s why people like it.
