Creature Commandoes Trailer
Creature Commandoes showed up in Weird War way back in 1980. It was the team back then consisted of a human commander and the Universal Monsters plus the Gorgon. As you can see they were kill’in Nazzzzeees.
They were reintroduced in 2000 and have bounced in and out of canon depending on what direction the latest reboot is doing. Consequently, I don’t really care that they don’t look like the original team.
This is the first appearance of James Gunn’s new DCU. Given how much I hate Marvel I am perhaps willing to give his new cinematic universe more of a chance than I should.
Anyway, they dropped this one last night when I wasn’t looking.
It’s not the worst trailer I’ve seen and it’s about what I expect from James Gunn.
It’s also the kind of IP I knew he’d be drawn to; established enough that comic book guys have heard of them but the general public hasn’t. And the title has been overhauled so many times that no one is really going to care about any big changes Gunn makes because no one can really say what’s supposed to be canon anyway.
