FLASH! DISNEY CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER IS GONE!!!

“Disney (DIS) Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy is stepping down from her role and taking a family medical leave of absence, the company said Thursday. Kevin Lansberry, the company’s CFO of Parks, Experiences and Products, will step in as interim CFO, effective July 1.
“Christine McCarthy is one of the most admired financial executives in America, and her impact on The Walt Disney Company during 23 years of dedicated service cannot be overstated,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement.”
Medical leave? Yeah, she’s shitcanned.
McCarthy was instrumental in the downfall of the previous CEO Bob Chapek. She’s the one that called the emergency meeting of the BOD behind Chapek’s back that resulted in Chapek’s brutal ouster at an Elton John concert, right before he was supposed to introduce Elton.
However, the moment Iger was back behind the CEO’s desk, (in truth, he never left it), two rumors began to fly. First, that since this was only supposed to be a two-year stint before Iger found a successor as CEO, that she should in fact become the CEO of Disney. Never mind that this is unheard of for a CFO at Disney. For some reason, she thought Iger’s return opened up an inside track for her to get the number one slot at the House That Walt Built.
Second, that Iger wanted her gone. No king is ever grateful to the regicide that made him a king. If the king-killer in question killed one king, why not another?
Two weeks ago she was named in a lawsuit by investors. The next Disney earnings call is August 7.
