DC Is Copying Arkhaven

“I had looked for this but not so soon,” as the old tombstone says.  DC is now partnering with Webtoons. I find this particularly laughable given how the comic book pros sneered at webtoons when they first entered the English-speaking market.  “If you were any good at all you’d be working for DC or Marvel,” is what ALL of their comments could be boiled down to. However, the truth is that talent goes where the money is.  And right now, the top of the heap webtoons...

Razorfist Parties Like It’s 1978

I see I'm not the only one who thinks we've regressed about four decades. Although, back then America's fundamentals were a hell of a lot better than they are today. I often wonder if Trump was the Septimus Severus of America; an Indian Summer Emperor. Regardless, this is Razorfist so this vid extremely NSFW. https://youtu.be/OKIszrFBQ2M

I Thought Seppuku Was a Japanese Thing

Shang Chi star Simu Liu had this to say to his boss on Instagram. “We are not an 'interesting experiment, we are the underdog; the underestimated. We are the ceiling-breakers. We are the celebration of culture and joy that will persevere after an embattled year. We are the surprise, I'm fired the fuck up to make history on September 3rd; JOIN US." This is clearly a response to Bob Chapek’s Q3 earning’s call statement with regards to Shang Chi’s release date.  Also, vaguely hinting your...

If You Were Wondering How They Would Screw Up Dune…

Wonder no more! This is a quote from Dune's director regarding, the second Dune movie which hasn't been shot yet. "I can't wait to shoot the second part of Dune to get [Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya] back together. Knowing that in the next chapter Zendaya will be the protagonist of the story." There you go. Straight from the mouth of Denis Villeneuve himself. Freaking Chani is going to be the star of the next movie. How can they do that? You ask in...

Shang Chi is Being Setup to Fail

Bob Chapek has changed his mind.  Despite the strong indications that Shang Chi would be pulled from theatrical distribution last week, Disney CEO Chapek went on the record at the 3RD quarter meeting, stating that Shang Chi will indeed be released “in theaters only.” Regardless of the fact that it is tracking to pull in an anemic box office haul of $35 to $55 million (and it’s not going to be $55 million).  Chapek has described this launch as a “data point” but...

PEG-GEE S-M-A-S-H!!!

I managed, just barely to make it to the end of the first Marvel What if...? Episodes. It starred every feminist-fan's favorite, Agent Carter. Quick reminder, the Agent Carter TV show was about Captain America's Sad Girlfriend Peggy. I admit I got briefly chumped about the hype myself, but only because Woke hadn't invaded every single aspect of American entertainment in 2015. It was headed there but it hadn't arrived yet and I was silly enough to assume Marvel cared...

Let’s Play – Who Is Gay Now?

Of course, it's Robin. But which one? There are so many to choose from these days. A boy crime-fighter, at first glance appears to be a terrible idea but if you go deep and really examine it then I think you will find that it is so much worse. Stan Lee was long on the record as absolutely hating the concept on general principle. Unless the kid has superpowers, he's going to be nothing but a hindrance...

Shang Chi Headed to Straight to Disney Plus?

It’s beginning to look like a possibility.   Delta Variant panic porn may work to Disney’s advantage in this case.  It might spare them the embarrassment of another flop. Shang Chi was supposed to be released “Only in theaters” in three weeks.  Except that in the latest ads the “Only in theaters” has been dropped and so, for that matter, has the Sept 2nd release date. The tracking has to be terrible on this movie.  It was created from scratch to pander to China and the Chinese were...
