Yeah, It’s Gonna Suck – Amazons Lord of the Rings (part II)

UPDATE: Look Troll Factory, my comments are moderated and yours won't be approved. Even less surprising than Baby Yoda’s choosing the armor is the clear and obvious fact Amazon’s Lord of the Ring, The Rings of Power should have been titled, The Triumph of Sauron.  The fair lands of Middle Earth have finally been overrun and despoiled.Christopher Tolkien was the good son of a great man; he steadfastly protected his father’s legacy and works.  But he is gone now.  The estate now belongs...

Oh No

Disney is reviving Futurama and they are already screwing it up.The voice of Bender is NOT going to be the voice of Bender. John DiMaggio is officially out of the project for some retarded Disney reason.Katy Sagel appears to be signed to play Leela but for crying out loud she's 68. Sure I've loved her work in the past but she is nearly seventy and that is going to show in her voice. Throaty, sexy doesn't...

He Chose the Armor

To the surprise of absolutely none of my readers, Baby Yoda picked the Armor.I'll cover the sobbing here as it occurs.**************This episode was terrible and Disney knew it was going to be terrible. The rumors were that this last episode was being reshot and recut up to last night. Basically, they were trying to "get the zany out."Which is why Han Solo's cameo got memory-holed. **************As bad as this episode was, the true tragedy is this:It is probably the death...

The Dark Herald Recommends – Lost Planet Homicide

This one is a little out of my usual stomping grounds.  Lost Planet Homicide by Larry Correia is an audio play exclusive to Audible.  I’ve certainly listened to his books on audio, but this piece is purpose-built from the ground up as a play.  You may not, as yet, find it in any other format.I believe this is Larry’s very first foray into hard science fiction, (unless there are short stories somewhere that I don’t know about). As the name implies Lost Planet Homicide...

Baby Yoda’s Choice

This to me, is both stupid and funny.I like Star Wars on the whole and indeed never missed a movie…completely.   I actually love the very first two movies but found Return of the Jedi to be pretty unsatisfying in many respects.  I admit I kind of walked away after Attack of Clones.  It wasn’t a good movie and the “love scenes” took cringe to levels unseen in science fiction and that is saying something. Although nowhere near as bad as the ones...

Talk about whatever you want so long as it relates to pop culture. All others get the ax.********************Jon Favreau appears to have saved his own ass. The lousy viewing numbers for the first four episodes of The Book of Boba Fett have been completely forgotten about so far as Mickey the Great and Terrible's senior servants are concerned. Episode Six has reportedly tripled the ratings of BBF's opening night. More importantly, much more importantly so far as the executives are concerned,...

The Book of Bobalorian

Why did you go, Mando?Last week I wrote, “I think Favreau must not have had any real engagement with the show until a few months ago and that brief contact left him reeling. “Oh my god, what has Rodriguez done? This disaster is actually worse than any of the Marvel shows. I have to save this situation somehow or Kennedy is back in charge!“I was only half-joking when I wrote that.  I am no longer joking, I am now absolutely certain that...

Zach Snyder’s Rebel Moon

For those of you that are remotely curious. no, it has absolutely nothing to do with Vox's game by that name. Here is the plot."The plot of Rebel Moon is “a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate, the colonists dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand.”Oh, my Glob. This is the plot...

The Dark Herald Barely Recommends – Foundation

This show is a borderline case.  There are elements that make it compelling from time to time but when all of these elements are taken together as a whole, it left me feeling empty.  This is not a feel-good show.  That would be okay if it was actually a good show and half of it isn’t.My rule of thumb for my Does Not Recommend rating is that there be no reason at all to watch it.  And there is reason to watch this show...

UPDATE: No, it isn't real. Although given how stupid the fashions were in the 1970s it's understandable. You know the rules.Don't break them.*********************Something for Markku https://twitter.com/dhtoomey/status/1481747171842183173?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1481747171842183173%7Ctwgr%5Ehb_2_8%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Face.mu.nu%2F ************************************Tom Holland is to be the new Ironman.Sort of.What I mean by that is he (according to some very reliable sources) is about to become the new face of the MCU.  A job that Kevin Feige had sworn to himself was going to belong to Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel.  Mostly because he had convinced himself that after the...
