Ubisoft to be Bought Out?
Obviously, it’s going to be bought out the only question has ever been by whom?
Ubisoft is bloated. It has according to its own website more than 45 studios across the world and better than 20,000 employees.

Severe cuts are unavoidable after the year it’s had. That Park Place is predicting it could be as high as 40%. At a minimum, it will be around 4,000 heads rolling in the first rounds of cuts. The company has become unmanageable, Skull and Bones proved that. While there’s no such thing as a slam dunk, the problems that out of control project had were clearly the result of weak management.
Star Wars Outlaws had the problem of working with LucasFilm, so while it’s tempting to blame Ubisoft for its choice of protagonist they would have had to have gotten approval from LucasFilm. There is no way that hive of scum and villainy would have greenlit a Han Solo project or for that matter a hot female protagonist. However, the complete lack of polish is all on Ubisoft, as is the uninspired game design work.
Ubisoft’s priority is no longer producing great games:

The global director of monetization knows exactly who blame for the company’s woes. The players that are refusing to be his little paypigs.
Not all gaming companies Stevy, most gamers are pretty cool with Arrowhead after the last Helldivers update. New Blood has a growing legion of fans. Suckerpunch on the other hand lived up to it’s name. Sony was expecting a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, not something that has gamers smelling another Woke trainwreck. Granted this is on the basis of nothing but a trailer and the statements of their lead actress with the mental illness haircut. However, the warning signs are all there.
However, what Stevy wants you to remember at all times is that it’s NEVER the company’s fault if a game fails.
But back to Ubisoft, very relaible sources are saying that Ubisoft has a buyout offer on the table from the Chinese gaming giant Tencent. The market views these as reliable enough bump up Ubisoft’s stock price for the first time this year.
Tencent is notable for it’s hands off approach to management of it’s IPs. However, that has always applied to successful companies. Ubisoft clearly needs serious restructuring.
