The Acolyte is Officially in Trouble
Shill to the stars Grace Randolph, the most reliably pro-LucasFilm shill channel with almost but not quite a million subs, has suddenly done an about face and absolutely dragged the latest episode of the Acolyte across broken concrete. She could not dredge up enough bile and vitriol. It went from absolutely amazing to a blitheringly incompetent steaming pile of Star Wars. The Neilson’s are out now so there is no hiding this disaster any longer.
There is no way in hell she would have done that without Disney’s permission.
It appears they’ve decided to let their prime shills recover a bit of their credibility. The blame is now pinned to Headland even though she didn’t write the last episode. But this is a Disney subsidiary and they have to blame somebody. Especially with Kathleen Kennedy’s contract renewal coming up at the end of September. Headland is an outsider and can therefore be the scapegoat. There will be no season 2, the decision has been made.
And not surprising at all, Andor is trending on twitter for no reason at all (other than it launches next month now). Granted its the only decent thing LucasFilm has made since 1983. While it doesn’t feel like Star Wars, it is at least entertaining which is more than I can usually hope for from Disney these days.
