What does everybody here think of the Letitia Wright situation? If you don’t know what I’m talking about:
1)She’s the actress that plays Shuri, Black Panther’s sister, and is apparently a Christian.
2)Back in December, she spoke against the Vaxx, even bringing up the Luciferase enzyme thing, and dared to share the video of a guy that is against not just the Vaxx, but climate change and trannie theory to boot.
3)A few months ago she was hospitalized with “minor injuries” following a stunt.
4)A week ago it turned out she had still not fully recovered, and Black Panther 2’s production was stopped because of this.
5)Finally, a few days ago it turned out she can’t go back to the USA – she lives in London – to finish the movie without taking the Vaxx first.
Is she being slowly but surely pushed out of BP2? If so, can that movie survive after losing two main cast members? Is it just a coincidence that two possible Christians (her and Boseman) will miss out on it? For myself, I can only say that watching the Narrative around Wright mutate on Reddit (from “Shuri should be the next Black Panther!” to “Please not Shuri!”) was truly fascinating to behold.

    Disney Blows It Yet Again
    .
This week they announced a new 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, series for Disney +. I am just barely old enough to remember how cool the movie was before Star Wars buried everything that came before it. Consequently, I perked up my ears in interest until I read the details.
    .
The plotline is about how Captain Nemo, an Indian Raja (that part is fine, Jules Verne wrote him as such) STEALS the Nautilus from the East India Company and takes to the high seas.
    .
Wrong. Nemo BUILT the Nautilus because he was genius centuries before his time. They destroyed everything important about the character in one sentence.
    .
Great job Colonizers! You have both victimized and condescended to a classic character and you did it instinctively.

Partly to remind us that minorities stealing from white people is a just and proper reparation, partly because “he stole his ship and ran away to explore the unknown” is the backstory of the Doctor, and these people have less fantasy than porn writers.

Genius harnessed to obsession is who Nemo is. To reduce him to being a thief is to lose most of the drama (and tragedy) of the character. Think of the wonders he could have given the world had he not been blinded by his thirst for vengeance.

Instead, we get a POC stealing white man’s technology because he could never build it himself. Instead of showing how superior he is to his oppressors, we get proof of how dependent he is on their technology. You couldn’t write a better “demonstration” of white supremacy if you tried.

the scary thing is that Indians are NOT the colored Caucasian inferiors of their white Caucasian cousins to the west. at all.
        .
watch some of PraveenMohan’s channel on YT. he goes through a lot of the ancient Hindu temples, looking at the various tech and construction that they were producing 1000 to 3000 years ago. they were doing stuff millennia ago that, just like with the Egyptians ( southern Caucasians of color ), we still don’t have any idea how they were accomplishing BECAUSE WE CAN’T REPLICATE IT TODAY.

I see that Disney is still trying to make Kamala Khan happen. You would think that the utter tanking of the Avengers game, which should have been a sure-fire slam dunk and made tons of money for everyone, would have taught them that Marvel fans are at best indifferent to this character and at worst actively avoid anything with her in it. But SJWs always double down, I suppose.
    .
I wonder how much of that is from her being the head of Marvel Comics’ self-insert character.

I haven’t been keeping close track, but Kamala Khan is one of the nuMarvel characters that can’t sustain a title, book gets a run, gets canceled, lather, rinse, repeat. This is entirely due destruction being the goal, and whatever money laundering scheme is causing her debut graphic novel collection to be a regular seller.

Watched Shang-Chi. The female sidekick was insufferable. Her voice was like nails on a chalkboard. The music ranged from blah to spike to the brain bad. Now to Shang-Chi, he looked nothing like the character from the comics. I was a fan back in the day.

The Kung-fu was competent enough wire and CGI-fu. Absolutely nothing to write home about. The costumes were dreadful and the weapons obviously designed for the G.I Joe toy market. The creatures were obvious and only moderately successful CGI. I cannot see what Disney thought it was doing with the female sidekick. She was more grating than Arsenio Hall in Martial Law.

Whatever Disney thought they were building with this franchise is beyond me. I don’t know the numbers, maybe I’m all wrong but who would be excited for a second movie? No one over eleven who saw the first.

I watched it on Disney plus day on a neighbor’s account. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but you’re right about the plucky comic relief, she was grating. In these days of the MSheU she was added to increase the grrl power. Even Zhang Chi’s sister kicked his Deadly Hands of Kung Fu butt.

His dad wasn’t evil enough to be the Mandarin. The rings were bracelets? We’ll never get to see him kick Ironman’s butt either.

The monsters looked fake. The souleater thing was not scary at all and is waylaid by Mary-su archery.

Zhang Chi was not the lean fighting machine of the comics. He looked kinda Soyboy pudgy. I can’t imagine how they’ll be a sequel though maybe the Rings are calling Galactus.

Yeah he’s supposed to be gritty street level kung Fu and have that lean almost aristocratic look Bruce exemplified. Sure he fought Dracula and stuff like that but who didn’t fight dracula in the seventies marvel verse. X-Men fought Dracula. Lumpy, doughy looking lunchbox of a peasant or the kid I played pool with in high School. Not the son of Fu Manchu. Sometimes Chinese have grating sidekicks but the chick was horrible.

    about the Midwest graphic:
the Mich/Ohio hate goes back to the Toledo War ( 1835 ), before MI was even a state. also, the Ohio comment makes no sense, they’ve got their own Great Lake. it’s Illinois that should be saying that about Wisconsin.
most everybody in Indiana south of I-70 has a Kentucky accent, this is true. also, the KKK was started here.
and, of course, the Cheesehead name for people from Illinois is “FISH” … fvcking Illinois shat heads.
and you want to talk about “redneck”? my family is long time from Indiana and we don’t hold a candle to those goofballs in Missouri.

If you look at popular culture as a vast money laundering scheme then Get Woke Go Broke makes sense. They are trying to lose money. Each production, comic, or literature is the equivalent of Springtime for Hitler.

      nah.
      .
the purpose of the pop culture stuff is meant to demoralize and confuse the native population. see Yuri Bezmenoff. this has been an overt goal of the Marxists for two centuries now.
      .
the money laundering itself takes place further upstream. government programs and taxes, FedRes designed inflation/money printing ( devaluing the dollars you possess ) and “requiring” you to buy health insurance and take !vax shots which you not only don’t need, but which actively harm you ( driving more business into the medical sector ).
      .
the popcult Hollywood stuff is where some of the money laundering GETS DISPOSED OF. because Seinfeld should be a billionaire …

Okay, pop culture. The Wheel of Time show is coming out this week, after 2 years of shooting around COVID restrictions. I was prepared to hate it. During a re-read, I found myself picturing Nynaeve as an emotional and illogical light-skinned black woman and now she makes more sense. I can actually tolerate her more now.
The casting for the male characters is good. Even the actress for Moiraine seems to fit the part.
Them making Siuan Sanche the Amyrlin into a black woman sort of makes sense, since many from Tear were dark-skinned. Making her and Moiraine’s very brief pillow-friendship into a major plot point and it looks like they’re going to show full on lesbianism is sickening.
The most troubling things are the hyped up feminism angles, and the even bigger is that a flamer is the show runner who is quite up front that he will have plenty of male nudity. I’m guessing he’s going to make sure there much more Lesbianism and homosex where possible, but probably hold that until season 2 or 3.
It does look like they may not totally screw it up. Which in some ways is worse, since they’ll be doing their best to screw with the good elements of the show and do their usual perversions.
Probably won’t be as bad as what they’ll do with the LOTR show, though.

Question for Dark Herald and the community here: Skyler got me thinking, if pop culture were run by Satan himself, with no regard to profit motive, but with the overarching goal of demoralizing and corrupting Christians, how would pop culture be different?

I’ll just wait here on the couch.

It would look exactly the same. Because that is exactly its purpose.
