AI Apology
I was laughing when I read the first line.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum isn’t just a bad idea for a game. It’s a bad game period.
2023 is the year that Bethesda’s model of “just release a game that is more buggy than an anthill and then patch your way to something playable before the first steam sale,” went mainstream.
Yes, this is yet another AAA title that was far too underbaked to justify its $60 price tag. I can certainly understand just giving up on developing it because… Look at the basic concept, it’s as good as it’s going to be. Who cares if it’s finished? Just shove it out the door and have a robot run up an I’m sorry.
And it was so bad that Daedalic felt they had to issue an apology.
Although they didn’t feel anyone needed to actually write it. So they quite obviously had Chat gtp run up an apology for them.
You can tell from the very first.
The Lord of the Ring. Singular, as in the One Ring is the Only Ring in this non-apology.
The rest of this wall of text is just as AI built as the retarded concept for the game itself.
Look if you are in the mood for a good stealth game, then play the original Thief games. Although not the reboot from 2014, that one still blows. If you have played them to death give Gloomwood a shot. It’s got way more polish than Gollum, is a third of the price and isn’t Gollum.
Sidenote: I haven’t finished Gloomwood yet. I intend to finish it but I do need to be in the right mood for a stealth’em up.
Okay, I’m done here.
