He’s B-A-A-A-ACK!

Hollywood is shocked and aghast today. The whole business world has been left reeling by the news.  Nelson Peltz is launching another bid to get on the Walt Disney Company Board of Directors.   Who could have foreseen this?  Well, me for one.   I predicted this was coming several times this past year. #TheDarkHeraldWasRight  Peltz has literally tripled the amount of shares that his Trion Group controls. This makes Nelson Peltz about the fifth biggest stockholder in Disney. Given the price of Disney stock...

RE:View Something Wicked This Way Comes

“First of all, it was October, a rare month for boys.”  That fantastic line is the opener for Ray Bradbury’s classic boys' horror story Something Wicked This Way Comes. And it is one of the few parts of the story that Disney got right.  There are plenty of critics of this movie whose entire criticism is based on its, admittedly, sub-par interpretation of the story.   I sympathize.    When I first saw the movie, I hadn’t read the book yet, so my own...

Meet the New Mary Jane

This is the new face for Mary Jane in Spiderman 2. Honestly, this one is a puzzler for me. Was this a political choice? Was this game art incompetence in 2023? Was this a developer's self-insert? I... I just don't know. I'm so confused. Below For reference, the REAL Mary Jane. What do you think? Discuss on Social Galactic

It Came From the Eighties – A Random Horror Listicle

REPOST: 5 October 2023. I like to repost this one, every year in the lonesome October. Ah, Horror.  The "lesser genre". Eternally demeaned, abused, and snubbed by the elders of the film industry. Yet almost all of the major filmmakers started out in it.  The only genre that has produced more mainstream directors is no-shit porn and I am not kidding about that. Rather than do some best-of-all-time horror movies list  I will just concentrate on the 1980s. The Eighties represent a unique...

The Dark Herald Does Not Recommend: Ahsoka

I think it’s safe to say that The Star Wars Holiday Special is in no way the worst show in the franchise. I’ll give it credit where it’s due, it felt more like a Galaxy, Far, Far Away than anything I’ve seen since 2017. At least the Holiday Special was a self contained story. Ahsoka is nothing short of an ad for Star Wars The Next Thing.   LucasFilm is currently controlled by the Portland Community College Creative Writing faculty. Or it...

Hammer Films Retrospective (Part V) Quatermass and the Pitt

Doctor Bernard Quatrermass is frequently credited with being the father of Doctor Who.  Which used to mean something good.  Regardless, this makes the one-time BBC staff writer Nigel Kneale, the grandfather of Doctor Who, and honestly, it kind of fits.  A preachy, judgmental, and hypocritical Leftie who is constantly exasperated by the human race’s refusal to “just grow up.”  Nigel Kneale was the creator of the Quatermass serials.  His voice was easily and unquestionably the most influential in the shaping of the...

The Wreck of the Halcyon

This weekend was the final running of the Disney World’s Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser.  An attraction that is without question the greatest failure in the entire history of Disney Parks.    River Country was possibly a more expensive failure but that waterpark was closed due to mechanical failures not a lack of interest.  The cost-benefit analysis of repairing River Country versus building a new waterpark was math that came down hard against Disney’s first swimming hole.   Superstar Limousine was a much worse concept...
