I put not my faith in princes, and I am certain with the iron-clad cynical certainty of a Gen-Xer that Ron DeSantis will get around to betraying us someday.
But this is not that day.
I was so dialed in on Reedy Creek that I missed the other and frankly more important bill that Governor DeSantis signed yesterday.
CRT training is now illegal in Florida.
Here’s the actual wording.
“… Subjecting any individual, as a condition of employment, membership, certification, licensing, credentialing, or passing an examination, to training, instruction, or any other required activity that espouses, promotes, advances, inculcates, or compels such individual to believe any of the following concepts constitutes discrimination based on race, color, sex, or national origin.”
That is what all the screaming was about in the Florida legislature. They weren’t mad about Disney losing its ability to sell municipal bonds. They were furious about their favorite form of brainwashing being face-planted into the concrete and dragged for a mile with Florida’s boot on the back of its head.
And tens of thousands of WDW castmembers lifted up their voices in praise of their deliverer Ron of Tallahassee.
