It Just Keeps Getting Worse for Middle Earth
Warner Brothers has decided to feed off of the massive success of the Gollum game. Apparently.
With Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum
Oh, it came and went so fast you don’t remember it?

They are making a movie about Smeagal. The most pathetic creature on all of Middle Earth.

With Andy coming aboard to direct ‘Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,’ we continue an important commitment to excellence that is a true hallmark of how we all want to venture ahead and further contribute to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ cinematic history.”

Why? Warner Brothers has the rights to Shadow of Mordor free and clear. That is an interesting story that respects the lore. This is about a character that flies refuse to follow around because it would be too embarrassing to be seen with Gollum. Also, I’m pretty sure the audience knows how his story ends.
I can only assume its because Andy Serkis is doing well at the moment because of Planet of the Apes. But that doesn’t make Smeagal a fun and exciting character. The happiest moment of his centuries long life was when he fell into a volcano. This film is a terrible idea.
