Kathleen Kennedy’s Contract Was Secretly Renewed

I’ve shaken the trees and that is what has fallen out.

The deadline has come and gone. There has been no announcement of Kennedy’s imminent departure as well as no ringing endorsements of her replacement coming from official Disney channels.

Also, Kay-Kay has been making a bunch of little digs at the Star Wars fandom this week in interviews, which amounts to her yelling, “I’m still standing bitches!”

The story I got is, that Chapek signed her renewal because John Favreau doesn’t want the job. But Chapek signed it knowing that that news would be about as popular with the fans as another COVID lockdown. So, he is trying to keep it as secret as possible.

But no public announcement of her position means that nothing is changing with her position, she is still the president of LucasFilm and will likely keep that job for as long as she wants it.

Good.

She will do more to damage Mickey and Great and Terrible on the inside than any of us have done on the outside by refusing to pay money to Disney. She has cost Disney billions in opportunity outlay alone, to say nothing of the permanent harm she has wrought upon the Star Wars brand. The toy sales will remain non-existent. The shows will remain unwatched and the books unread. Let her continue her rampaging campaign of Woke destruction, may she flourish at it. If Bob Chapek thinks he can use accounting tools to achieve “creative excellence through data-driven audience feedback” at LucasFilm no matter who’s in charge, then he will be the CEO that ends up presiding over Disney bankruptcy. She has now been president of LucasFilm for a decade, let her have it a decade more. With luck, she will become the CEO of the entire company and do for Disney what she has done for Star Wars.
