Description

This test edition of THE MEDITATIONS by Marcus Aurelius Antoninus was produced to test the machinery at the Castalia Bindery in Switzerland. It is not a second edition of the Library book although it is bound in the same Italian cowhide used in the previous Library edition and the interior is, with the exception of the title page, identical to the first Library edition. The page edges are not gilded and the spine lacks the usual hubbings, hence the reduced price. It is identified on the title page as: “A test edition of 200”. The green leather is the same color that was used for HEIDI and THE JUNGLE BOOKS.
