Oh man – I love them both. Do the second one, please – that’s got more fun stuff in it. And less ‘aliens sticking faces on themselves’

    Last Starfighter, all the way.

“Ladyhawke” because back in the day it was one of three movies in constant play in the video rooms at Cons. “Ladyhawke”, “Akira”, and a really bad bootleg copy of “Macross: Do you remeber love”.

Strangely, I don’t recall seeing “the Last Starfighter” at con. Only on USA and video rentals.

Either one would be great, but I have a soft spot for Ladyhawke.

The Last Starfighter please. It was a fun film, while the FX might not hold up, they were pretty cool when young Ivan saw them in the theater.

That’s a toughie. Last Starfighter was a perfect hero’s journey quest that incorporated a lot of popular trends -Arcade games, CGI and Star Wars style space battles. If you were a 12 year old boy back then, the only thing it needed to be your favorite movie of all time was tits.

Ladyhawke was a beautiful fantasy movie with a brooding Rutger Hauer as an antiheroic knight. It came out just as I was hitting puberty and may be the reason I have a thing for blondes who wear black. It’s only flaws was giving Ferris Bueller the viewpoint character role (and forcing him to do an unconvincing accent,) an overlong plot that dragged in places, and ELP’s score, which worked in some places, giving an etheral feel to the transformation scenes, but sounded like a silly company promotional video soundtrack during the action scenes.

I can’t decide. I’d probably pick Legend as the next Fantasy review. Have you reviewed that one yet?

The first one says “video unavailable” and when I press it, it goes to a Justin biber video, the second says “Lady Hawk.

    Are you being intentionally cruel?

I remember going to see Last Star Fighter in the theater. The CGI acknowledgement in the credits got the biggest hand.

I love them both(mayhap a slight preference for Starfighter) and would gladly read whichever you select.

The joy of reading a good writer’s take on a non-converged movie really takes me back to the good days of blogging.

I would like to embrace the power of ‘and’ on this one. If you absolutely have to do just one, Ladyhawke.

If you’re going to end up doing both, then I don’t think it matters which one you do first!
Your blog, you get to choose! 😉

Last Starfighter: any boy who played videogames as an escape mechanism with every spare quarter to his name KNEW that this was the dream. To be the world’s best at SOMETHING, if only a videogame, and given the chance to travel to the stars! Pilot a starfighter! Kill the enemy, and risk death at…waitaminnit…just let me think for second.
Nope, this shit just got too real. You know what, send my ass back to the trailer park man…
    Yes, please, Last Starfighter.

Ladyhawke: I’m supposed to identify with the nerd who ISN’T, under *ANY* plot twist, going to bone Michelle Pfeiffer? No thanks–hated it. Although Richard Donner who directed DID make the Lethal Weapon movies so…thanks for those man. Seriously.
